About Agrikip

A foot in the paddock and a hand on the keyboard.

Agrikip exists to close a gap: the distance between the people who grow things and the tools that are supposed to help them.

The story

Why one business does agronomy and software.

Too often, agricultural software is designed by people who have never walked a paddock. And good agronomy advice rarely makes it into a tool a grower can use day to day. It stays in a report, an email or someone's memory.

Agrikip brings both sides together, so the advice and the software speak the same language. The work spans three areas that naturally overlap: agronomy services grounded in real field experience, Android apps built around how the job actually runs, and websites that give a rural business or community organisation a proper presence.

A grower might need all three. A small business might need just one. Either way, the starting point is the same: understand the problem before reaching for a solution.

Agrikip is based in Tamworth, in the New England and North West region of New South Wales. Most software and web work happens online, so clients can be anywhere in Australia. Agronomy work in the field is arranged case by case.

Purpose

Help people who work the land make better decisions, with less friction.

That means advice that is clear enough to act on, and tools simple enough that people keep using them when the season gets busy.

Plain over clever

Clear advice and simple tools beat impressive ones nobody can use. No jargon for its own sake, and every recommendation explained.

Built to last

Sites and apps you can maintain and update, not ones that fall over the moment something changes or the developer moves on.

One person, start to finish

You deal directly with the person doing the work, so nothing gets lost between the field conversation and the finished tool.

Evidence before inputs

Monitor, measure and then decide. Products and practices are recommended because the paddock calls for them.

Respect for the offline reality

Rural mobile coverage is patchy. Tools are designed to work without signal and sync later, not to fail at the gate.

Honest scope

If something is outside Agrikip's expertise, you will be told, and pointed to someone better placed to help.

Approach

Agriculture first, technology second.

Technology is never the starting point. The starting point is the crop, the business, or the community, and what is getting in the way.

  • Start with a conversation about the actual problem, on site or online.
  • Recommend the simplest thing that will work, even when that is not software.
  • Build in small stages so you can try it and steer it early.
  • Hand over with clear explanations, so you are never dependent on guesswork.

Who you will work with

Led by an agronomist who also writes the code.

Kiplangat (Michael)

Founder, agronomist and developer

An agronomist with a focus on plant protection and a background in crop extension, now completing a Master of Science in Agriculture. Alongside the field work, Michael builds Android apps and websites, and started Agrikip to offer both together.

  • Plant protection
  • Crop extension
  • Android development
  • Web development

What makes Agrikip different

You are not hiring a tech person and a field person. You are hiring one person who is both.

Field context built in

Apps are designed by someone who knows what a scouting walk, a spray record or a group project ledger involves.

No lost translation

The person who hears your problem in the paddock is the person who designs and builds the solution.

Small by design

A focused practice means direct contact, honest timelines and work that fits a rural budget.

Got a paddock problem, a record-keeping mess or a website that needs work?

Send a few lines about it. You will get a reply from the person who will actually do the work, not a sales team.
